Seattle Trumpet Consort After Baroque:Music for The Natural Trumpet

stc.jpgThe Seattle Trumpet Consort is proud to announce the release of our new CD on Origin Classical Records, After Baroque: Music for The Natural Trumpet. Sponsored in part by the Early Music Guild, 4Culture and Origin Records, we will be celebrating with a live concert featuring selections from the CD, plus works of Biber and Caldera for baroque trumpets and voice.

Brian Chin is Co-founder of the Seattle Trumpet Consort, serves as Principal Trumpet for the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra, and is a colleague and fellow teacher of mine at Seattle Pacific University.

This album is an incredible project. I had the opprotunity to sit in on one of the recording sessions over a year ago. The level of musicianship, stamina and attention to detail on all the tracks should not be missed. These guys take their music and instruments seriously:

The consort performs on trumpets patterned after the leading instruments of 18th century Nürnberg, Germany. These instruments are produced by today’s leading baroque trumpet manufacturers: Adolph Egger & Sons, Frank Tomes, and Naumann Trumpets.

You can find more information about the CD release party and the ensemble at their web-site. Bravo! to Mr. Chin and The Seattle Trumpet Consort!
